Before today, I don’t believe I had ever even heard of, let alone drunk, a saison – a style of pale ale that originated in a French-speaking region of Belgium.

This one, which bills itself as hoppy to boot, is made by Paracaidista (Parachutist), a brewer in the Roma neighborhood of Mexico.

The beer has fruitiness and freshness in spades with just enough hoppiness to do justice to its name.

The aroma is lovely and the label is appropriately hip for the Roma crowd.

“Everyone was making IPAs but as we’re not everyone, we decided to make a saison,” the latter says.

Great beer on a warm day, just lacks a little in body and bitterness to compete with my favorite Mexican beers, which are mainly IPAs to be sure. Still, this one comes recommended  Cheers!

Antes de hoy, no creo que había escucado, menos tomado, una saison – un estilo de pale ale que originó en la región de habla francesa de Bélgica.

Esta, que se describe como hoppy (lupulosa) también, es hecha por Paracaidista, una cervecería en la colonia Roma de la Ciudad de México.

La cerveza tiene notas de fruta y frescura en abundancia con lúpulo suficiente para hacer justicia a su nombre.

La aroma es encantadora y la etiqueta es apropiadamente hip para la banda de Roma.

“Todo mundo estaba haciendo IPAs. Pero como no somos todo mundo, decidimos hacer una saison,” dice la etiqueta.

Chela chida para un día caluroso, solo falta un poco de cuerpo y amargura para competir con mis cervezas favoritas mexicanas,  cuales por supuesto principalmente son IPAs. Aun así, esta viene recomendada. ¡Salúd!
