A chupacabras – literally a goat sucker – is a mythical creature in the folklore of parts of the Americas but also a beer made by Tijuana brewery Cucapá.

The brewery makes six beers year-round including this American Pale Ale that I’m drinking today.

The Chupacabras is a rust-coloured brew that had a nice head after pouring but one that was quickly lost.

There’s a hint of toffee in the beer’s aroma that took me back to cake stall days in primary school.

It’s also a bit sweet on the palate, nothing like the Minerva IPA that I reviewed in yesterday’s debut in this series.

A nice enough ale but nothing special and not one that I would seek out again.

Un chupacabras es una criatura mítica del folclor de algunas partes de las Americas pero también es una cerveza producida por la cervercería tijuanense Cucapá.

La cervecería hace seis cervezas durante todo el año incluyendo esta American Pale Ale que estoy tomando hoy.

La Chupacabras es una chela del color óxido que tuvo buena espuma después de servírmela pero que despareció rápidamente.

Hay un toque de caramelo en el aroma de la cerveza que hizó recordarme a los puestos de dulces cuando yo iba en la primaría.

También es un poco dulce en el paladar, nada como la Minerva IPA que reseñé ayer en el debut de esta serie.

Una chela suficientemente buena pero nada especial y no creo que la compraría de nuevo.
