In late May I spent an afternoon in central Bogota walking around the historic district of La Candelaria, eating the typical dish of bandeja paisa and drinking cerveza colombiana. Late in the afternoon just before beginning the journey back to El Dorado International Airport I came across a mural with the smiling, laughing faces of little boys. It provides quite a contrast from the mural I posted some time ago of la niña chilanga (Mexico City girl), whose solemn and serious expression provokes a very different response.
