Otra excursión por la linea morada antes de divergir el MCM Project a una de las otras 10 lineas del sistema.

Cuando todavía estaba en el tren vi unas fotos grandes pero desde la distancia no pude saber de qué eran.

Me bajé en Peñon Viejo para ir a verlas de más cerca.

Resulta que son fotos de una colección con el título ‘El Sekreto de la Infancia’, una exposición montada por fotógrafo local Israel Ortiz (El Malojo).

Muchas de las imagenes estan andrajosas.  No sé cuánto tiempo lleva la exposición alli, expuesta al tiempo, vulnerable a vándalos.

Sin embargo, pensé que el deterioro de las imagenes actualmente añide algo a la exposición.  Los garabatos, no tanto.

Barack Obama, de niño es uno de los protagonistas y estoy seguro que algunas/muchas de las otras imagenes son también de personas conocidas pero no sé quienes son?

También hay una cita de escritor francés Victor Hugo ‘Cuando el niño destroza su juguete parece que anda buscándole el alma.’

Verás unas cosas más que me invitaron una mirada.

Y  hice dos amigos nuevos al recuperar la pelota de los jovenes desde el otro lado de un camino muy transitado.  Son los de las ultimas fotos!

Another jaunt down the purple line before the MCM Project diverges onto one of the other 10 lines of the system.

While I was on the train I spotted some large photographs but from the distance I couldn’t make them out too well.

I jumped off at Peñon Viejo and set out for a closer look.

It turns out to be a collection of photographs entitled ‘El Sekreto de la Infancia’ (The Secret of Infancy), an exhibition put together by local photographer Israel Ortiz, aka ‘El Malojo’.

Many of the images are tattered.  I don’t know how long the exhibition has been there, exposed to the weather, vulnerable to vandals.

However, I thought that the tattiness of the images actually adds something to the exhibition.  The scrawled graffiti, not so much.

There is a young Barack Obama within the ranks and I am sure that some/many of the other images are also of well-known folk but I just can’t quite put my finger on who they are.

Amongst the photos there is a quote from French writer Victor Hugo– ‘When a child ruins a toy it would seem that he is searching for his soul.’

You will see that a few other things caught my gaze around the station.

I even made two new friends by retrieving their ball from the other side of a busy road.  They’re the guys in the last 2 photos.
