Me bajé en La Viga con mucha energía y exploré un barrio tranquilo con arquitectura interesante, unos comedores, otra dosis de arte callejero, un parque agradable, jovenes jugando al frónton y una maquina antigua de bolas.

Al otro lado de la estación está El Centro de Arte y Cultura – Circo Volador que ofrece varios programas y talleres, tiene estudio de grabación, ofrece espectaculos y en general ayuda a la juventud en una variedad de temas, especialmente los que se encuentran desfavorecidos.  El sitio de web sinchoros.org que ofrece consejo juvenil también se promociona alli.

También tomé unas imagenes de una sofa abandonada, una foto de La Viga hace años y una reliquia del dia de muertos.

I jumped off at La Viga with a spring in my step and delved into a tranquil neighbourhood with some interesting architecture, low-key suburban eateries, another dose of street art, a leafy park, youths playing the ever popular frónton and an old style pinball machine.

On the other side of the station is ‘El Centro de Arte y Cultura – Circo Volador‘ (Flying Circus Art and Culture Centre) that runs a range of programs and workshops, has recording space, offers performances and generally helps out the youth of Mexico City, especially disadvantaged youth on a range of issues.  The web site sinchoros.org, which offers youth advice, is also promoted there.

I also caught some images of an abandoned couch, a photograph of La Viga back in the day and a remnant relic from Day of the Dead.
