Aquiles Serdán, el hombre, era un compañero del ex-presidente Mexican Francisco Madero.  Los dos lucharon en contra de la larga regimen (el porfiriato) de Porfirio Díaz.

Justo afurea de la estación también esta sucediendo una lucha, en forma de imagenes de guerra.

En una de las imagenes está escrito la palabra inglés ‘bizarre’ (extraño).  Y está correcto.  No puede ser en un buen estado de mente que la matanza de la humanidad continua.

Un poco más lejos hay unas pancartas atractivas de azulejos de Tezozomoc, Huitzilihuitl y el pueblo pre-colmbiano Xaltelolco.  Unas más lamentablemente estaban cubiertas por otras señales porque supongo que es importante saber cuanto cuesta una docena de huevos.

Finalmente, fue confortante ver que no son solamente las camaras de seguridad que estan protegiendo a la ciudad sino una versión pequeña de Pancho Villa también.

Aquiles Serdan, the man, was a sidekick of former Mexican President Francisco Madero.  They both fought against the long term regime (el porfiriato) of Porfirio Díaz.

Right outside the station there is fighting going on too, in the form of images of war.

On one of the images the word ‘bizarre’ is written.  And – so right.  For it cannot be in a right state of mind that the slaughter of humanity continues.

Deeper into the surrounds there are some attractive tiled placards of Tepanec leader Tezozomoc (Stone Feather), Tenochtitlan leader Huitzilihuitl (Hummingbird Feather) and pre-Colombian town Xaltelolco.  A couple more were unfortunately covered by other signs because I guess it is important to know the price of a dozen eggs.

Finally, it was reassuring to see that not only are the security cameras keeping Mexico City safe but a mini-version of Pancho Villa as well.
