According to Wikipedia Indios Verdes is the busiest station in the entire Mexico City Metro Network!

The station, which translates as Green Indians, is named after two large statues of Aztec emperors Itzcoatl and Ahuizotl.

The name is derived from the green tinge the statues have taken on due to patina caused by exposure to the weather.

There are a number of other statues as well, an arched wall, the Water Museum which currently has an exhibition on recycling and a Mother Teresa house.

Según Wikipedia Indios Verdes es la estación con mayor afluencia de todo el sistema de metro de la Ciudad de México!

La estación lleva su nombre por las dos estatuas grandes de los gobernantes (Huey Tlatoani) Itzcóatl y Ahuízotl.

El nombre viene del matiz de verde que tiene las estatuas debido a patina causado por exposición al tiempo.
